In the name of God, Amen, I Thomas Phillips of Craven County in his Majesty's Province, of North Carolina, being sick and weak of Body, in possession of perfect memory. Thanks be given to God and considering the mortality of Body and knowing that is appointed for all once to die do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament.....to the earth...a decent Christian burial at the discretion of my Executors that as touching such worldly state wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life, I give, demise and dispose of the Same in the following manner and form.
I give and bequeath to Isabelle, my Dearly beloved whom I constitute as Executrix of this my last Will and Testament...singular worldly goods...effects together with other chattles pertaining to or belonging to me or in my possession to be possessed by her during her lifetime or she marries afterwards to pertain and belong to my beloved son William.
Item: I give and bequeath to my beloved son John whom I also constitute as Executor of my last Will - one shilling Sterling to be raised and payed out of my Estate
