Comments: (There was a North and South Double Creek in the part of Surry County that became Stokes County in 1789 and there was an East and West Double Creek in Surry County. Note that a Lewis Hicks served as an executor for the estate of John Phillips of Rowan County in 1801 and John Phillips second wife may have been Dinah Hicks. Descendants of John Phillips of Rowan Co NC have been DNA tested and their DNA matches that of Phillips Family DNA Group 9.) Mordecai and Jane appear to have moved to Cass County, MO, by 1839, along with his cousin John T. Phillips.)
