William Phillips Senr of Anson Co and wife Ann to Robert Whicker for £20 proclamation money, 300 acres on east side of Lanes Creek granted to Joseph White Senr in 1756 and sold to William Phillips Senr. Wit: Robert Lasiter, Julius Holley, William Holley. DB Vol 3, Pg 168-169.

(Note that this is the first time that William Phillips is described as “Senior.” This indicates that his son William Jr was probably born by 1744, unless there was another William Phillips in Anson County.)
