Comments
(If this is John Phillips, the putative son of William Phillips, he is approximately 25 years old. There are very few references to John Phillips in early Anson Co. The only other references I have found are in 1754 and 1755 when the line of John Phillips is mentioned in a deed describing land on the Cattawba River. The Cattawba River is located west of the Pee Dee River and it forms the western boundary of Mecklenburg Co today. Mecklenburg County was carved out of Anson Co in 1762.)
