Brother Lehmann moved here today (Bethabara) with his wife Elizabeth, maiden name Schor, widow Hauser, and the little girl Maria Magdalena Philipps.

(Quote from Volume VI of Records of the Moravians in North Carolina. According to Kerk Phillips web site @ www.ourphillipsfamily.net Maria Magdalena Phillips was born 28 May 1800, the daughter of Richard and Juliana Straub/Judah Stroop Phillips. Maria Magdalena�s putative twin brother William may have gone to live with William Phillips, the son of Joseph and Mary Phillips, as the birth of a William Phillips on 28 May 1800 is recorded in the old Joseph Phillips bible. However, Kerk says Richard and Juliana had five children and according to Juliana�s memoir, she only had four children with Richard Phillips, 1 son and 3 daughters. After Richard died, Juliana married 2nd Johannes Mucke and 3rd Gottlieb Spach. Elizabeth Schor was born 36 Aug 1773 in Bethania, Stokes County. She married 1st Frederick Hauser circa 1795 and 2nd John/Johann Christian Lehman 10 Jan 1808 in Bethania, Stokes County. She died in Bethania 11 Aug 1867. Note above that Foster Phillips worked for George Hauser Jr in Bethania.)
