Jonathan Phillips[1] (1765-1836) was the son of John Phillips (1735-1801).

Jonathan Phillips died in Ashe County, NC or that vicinity based on the fact that his wife, Mary Persons/Parsons (abt.1770-1844) the daughter of Richard Persons and Elizabeth "Betsy" Feathers. Mary, Jonathan's wife, died in 1844 leaving a Will in Ashe County. Also, Jonathan and Mary's son Nathan(see below), who was a brother to Jonathan(1765-1836), died in 1833, leaving a Will in Ashe County.

Will of William Harvey Phillips. 1st married Anna Caroline Lenderman and 2nd married Ellen Brown (she was previously married to Jesse Franklin Dillard). NOTE* William Harvey Phillips' father was a Jonathan Phillips, it is believed, but not proven to be Jonathan Phillips Jr. (Abt 1790-Aft 1856), the son of Jonathan Phillips Sr and Mary Parsons. DNA testing has proven the relationship to John Phillips (1735-1801) and they are all part of Phillips DNA Family Group 9.
