J. Robert Quillin of Patrick Co., VA but late a soldier in the 1st Regiment do hereby constitute Jonathan Unthank of the County of Surry and State of North Carolina my lawful attorney to receive to his own use bounty of land from the United States for my services in the Revolutionary War with Great Brittain signed 20 Aug 1807 Surry County, NC 20 Aug 1807 Jesse Franklin and Jacob McCraw, acting Justices of the Peace of the aforesaid county Charles Ross make the ??? in due form that he was personally acquainted with Robert Quillin late soldier in the 1st VA Reg was made a prisoner with himself at the fall of Charleston but does not know how or what manner he was deposed of afterwards land warrant for 100 acres issued, #392, Feb 2, 1808
