Comments

(This Mark Phillips must have been born by 1757 to be 21 years old in 1778. He is not mentioned in the Joseph Phillips bible. Mark appears on the 1782 Surry County tax lists, the 1790 Surry County reconstructed census and then disappears. Note that there was a Mark Phillips born in Prince George County, VA in 1736, the son of Thomas and Isabelle Phillips and a Mark Phillips whose parents were Thomas and Patty Phillips of Northampton County, NC. Shallowford Road was located in what is today the southern part of Yadkin and Forsyth Counties and it was apparently named after a shallow ford across the Yadkin River.)
